Bleaching

Bright white teeth in a short time and a safe manner.

Discoloration of the teeth can have several causes:

food (coffee, medication, tobacco, alcohol, ...)

    aging

a dead or removed dental nerve

    trauma

Several treatments are possible depending on the exact cause of the tooth discoloration.

Cleaning / Curettage

A healthy smile starts with healthy gums

Keep your gums healthy by thoroughly cleaning your teeth twice a day with a toothbrush and using interdental means such as toothpicks, dental floss or interdental brushes (depending on the space between your teeth) once a day. Regular calculus removal ensures that your gums remain healthy. A six-monthly check is therefore highly recommended for everyone!

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a fixed prosthesis that replaces one tooth. A series of crowns can be manufactured to replace multiple teeth. The dentist can place a crown over an existing tooth or on an implant. Crowns are manufactured by the dental technician and are therefore often more aesthetic but also more expensive than a normal filling.

A bridge is an example of a fixed prosthesis that can replace 1 or more teeth and can be placed on natural teeth or on implants.

Extractions

When a tooth cannot be restored, causes severe inflammation or is supernumerary, it can be removed. In our practice this is done by the periodontist under local anesthesia. If you want a replacement to fill in the created space, you can discuss the possibilities with us.

Facing

Facings are thin, custom-made porcelain shields that cover the front of the teeth. They are executed in a color of your choice, which allows us to optimize the aesthetics of your (front) teeth, while at the same time preserving as much of our own tooth tissue as possible. A thin layer is removed from the front of the tooth and then covered with another aesthetic material.

Durability, maintenance, cost, procedure, advantages and disadvantages, etc., the dentist will discuss with you during a consultation or a six-monthly check-up, so that a tailor-made plan can be made for you.

Filling

To fill a hole in your tooth, the dentist almost exclusively uses composite. This strong material is white in color. The color is adapted to the color of your teeth. It is therefore a particularly welcome alternative to the dark, disfiguring amalgam of the past. A tooth that has been professionally restored with composite is hardly distinguishable from the other teeth.

In addition to fillings, composite also allows us to close gaps and embellish malformed teeth.

Implants

When you miss a tooth, the adjacent teeth tend to fill up this space. The opposite tooth can also start growing in order to fill that space. When multiple teeth are absent, you may experience difficulty chewing food. A solution can then be an implant. An implant replaces one or more of your teeth and provides a durable functional and aesthetic solution that most closely mimics the natural situation.

In- and Onlays

Also referred  to as “partial crown” or “porcelain filling”

An inlay or onlay is a partial crown usually made of porcelain. Where dentists once went for a full crown, they nowadays increasingly opt for these partial restorations where less dental tissue has to be sacrificed. Inlays and onlays are manufactured by the dental technician and are therefore often more aesthetic but also more expensive than a normal filling.

Removable Prostheses

Partial of full removable prostheses, also known as dentures, can replace one or more teeth, as a temporary or permanent solution. The advantage of the removable prosthesis is the cleanability, a disadvantage is their comfort. Removable dentures require habituation of the patient in terms of chewing and speaking.

Routine check-ups

Beautiful starts with healthy. During the routine oral examination, all teeth, restorations and oral tissues are thoroughly inspected. If necessary, we will also take a number of radiographic images to detect dental problems in time and to follow up on previous treatments.

The earlier we detect caries, the less dental tissue we’ll have to drill away in order to remove all the bacteria. It is therefore important that you have a check-up twice a year, even if you don’t have complaints at the time. Many problems can be avoided by regular checking and cleaning. Do not forget to bring your ID card and an overview of your current medication.
